    中国船舶重工集团公司第七○九研究所成立于1956年，是我国最早融计算机、自动控制和数学理论研究为一体的研究所，主要从事计算机加固技术、容错技术、并行处理技术以及网络技术与软件工程、图形图像处理、工业过程控制、印制电路等专业的研究和开发工作。
The 709^th Research Institute, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, is founded in 1956. It is one of the earliest research institute combining the research of the computing techniques, the automatic control and the math theory together. It is mainly dedicated to the research and development on many specialties, including the computer ruggedization techniques, the fault-tolerant techniques and the parallel techniques, the network techniques and software engineering, the graphics and image processing, the industrial process control, the printed circuits and so on.

    全所1千余名职工中，有研究员40多人、高级工程师300余人、工程师250余人，先后500多项技术成果荣获各种奖励。
Among the more than one thousand employees in the institute, over 40 of them are professors, over 300 of them are senior engineers and over 250 of them are engineers. They have been awarded for nearly 500 technical achievements in various levels.

    四十多年来，九所研制的多种型号的加固计算机、加固工作站、容错计算机和并行计算机等产品填补了国内空白，达到国际领先水平。
For more than forty years, the products developed by our institute, such as various rugged computers, the rugged workstations, the fault-tolerant computers and the parallel computers and so on, have filled the empty in China and achieved the internationally advanced standards.

    七○九所及时将高新技术应用于国民经济建设中，使民品开发呈现出勃勃生机，已形成了以计算机、自动控制、机电一体化、网络与软件、电路板制造等为主体的民品产业，研制的高速卷烟机电子控制系统、升船机计算机监控系统、功率电子产品、印制电路板等产品以及承接完成的众多现场工程管理信息系统和Internet/Intranet网络工程，为国民经济的发展作出了积极贡献。
The 709^th institute has applied the high-tech in the national economic constructions in time, making the development for civil products in full vitality. The body of the civil product industry supported by these pillars, i.e. the computer, the automatic control, the electromechanics, the network and software, the PCB manufacture, has been initially formed. The products developed by us, such as the electronic control system for the high-speed tobacco rolling machine, the computer supervision control system for the shiplift, the power electronic products, the PCBs and so on, have contributed greatly to the national economic developments.

    七○九所于1997年2月通过了ISO9000质量体系认证，固定资产逾亿元，仪器设备精良，实验手段完善，拥有设施先进、配套齐全的SMT生产线、印制板生产线、EDA设计中心和仿真、图形、网络、CAD等实验室，先进的设计、测试与生产手段，为产品的高质量提供了可靠的保证。
In Feb.,1997, the 709^th institute has pass the ISO9000 Quality System Authentication. The fixed asset of the institute is more than a hundred million yuan. The institute possesses good equipment, instrument and perfect experiment facilities. By using the advanced and completely equipped SMT production line, the PCB production line, the EDA design center and the experiment and test facilities of the simulation, graphics, network, CAD and so on, we have provided reliable assurance to the high quality of the products.
